Since the 1950s, vine-growing has been at the heart of our family history. My grandfather, a winegrower in Trigny and renowned musician, and my grandmother laid the foundations for Champagne Jacques Goulard. Their values were passed on to my parents, who cultivated them in turn: rigorous work, respect for the terroir, and a love of wine. They developed Champagne JL Goulard and, in 2008, created a winery to craft unique and expressive wines.
Since 2012, I have been pursuing this adventure, creating my own cuvées, supported by my husband Alexandre in the management of the vineyard. Champagne Lucile Proy is the expression of our attachment to the terroirs, crafted with sensitivity, intuition, and passion.
In my family, winegrowing has been passed down from generation to generation, often by women. Mothers and daughters who tended their plots with determination, humility, and passion. I think of my grandmothers, Eliane and Gisèle, and my mother Florence, who were passionate winegrowers who showed courage at a time when their place was not always recognized.
Today, I am carrying on this heritage, adding my own sensitivity and vision. Being a winegrower in Champagne involves both honoring tradition and daring to write a new chapter that is more personal and more open.
Our vineyard covers 35 plots spread across seven distinct Champagne terroirs, from the Massif de St Thierry to the Côte des Blancs. Each of these terroirs brings its own personality, and each plot tells a unique story. This diversity, both geological and climatic, allows us to create complex and balanced Champagnes, where each cuvée reveals a singular expression of our estate and our expertise.
